When best friends Max and Diane become cynical about the dating scene, they jokingly agree to marry each other if they haven?t found their true love in one year?s time. As he symbolically picks a flower for the bride, he is struck by tragedy in the form of the wedding limo and rushed to the hospital. In a haze of unconsciousness, he shares the details of his promises of the heart to his female paramedic, presenting the flower to her.
